Why is it called "Fade"?

Along my venture into the world of photo and videography, light and shadow — I learnt about something fundamental that opened my eyes about the beauty of photo editing and enhancement.

Initially, I was drawn to the allure of deep blacks in my images, believing they would add drama and intensity. Yet, over time, I realized why so many pro photographers and videographers avoid true black. Simply put, soft faded blacks can bring a warmth and richness that felt more inviting.

This realization and practice, albeit simple, is one of the earliest lessons I self-learnt as a creative, and always acts as a reminder of my journey's humble beginnings.
